Peer Support

We know that coping with a new diagnosis can be difficult, especially when it is something you may have never heard of before. It can be daunting trying to come to terms with the impact of GBS, CIDP, MMN, or any condition that can have long term effects on your life.

One of the best ways of understanding a condition is by speaking to someone with lived experience of it. We can match you to one of our amazing volunteers, all of who have lived experience with GBS, CIDP, or another inflammatory neuropathy. They will be happy to talk about their experience and answer any of your questions.

Our volunteers are a diverse group, and as a result we are able to match people with volunteers based on condition, age, gender, location, life experience, and preference.

Whether or not you are recently diagnosed, have had a condition for a while but have some questions, or are a friend or family member of someone impacted by a condition, then talking to someone who really understands what you are going through can be really helpful.

If you would like to find out more about Peer Support, or be matched with a volunteer, then contact the office on 01529 469910 or 0800 374803, or email us via office@gaincharity.org.uk

We couldn’t provide our Peer Support service without our incredible volunteer team. If you think you could support someone with GBS, CIDP, or another condition and would like to volunteer, then please get in touch and put your name forward.
