Volunteer with GAIN

.As a small charity, GAIN really depends on its volunteers to help reach and support people, raise awareness, and help the charity to meet its goals and objectives.

We simply cannot deliver what we do without our amazing group of dedicated volunteers. We work with people from all around the UK and Ireland, who all have lived experience of GBS, CIDP, MMN or a related condition.

We are always looking to add more volunteers, so if you are interested in supporting people impacted by GBS, CIDP, MMN or a related condition then fill in the form below or get in touch with the office for a chat on 01529 469910.

We have a range of volunteer roles available including:

  • Providing Peer Support – Linking with people impacted by GBS, CIDP, or another condition, and providing information, advice, and guidance based on your own lived experience
  • Supporting and Facilitating a Local Get Together – Co-ordinating a Local Get Together in your area, and supporting those that join
  • Being a Local Champion – Acting as a GAIN representative in your local area, linking into local clinical facilities and community groups and supporting local people impacted by GBS, CIDP, or another condition
  • Being an Online Champion – Acting as a GAIN representative online, supporting people impacted by GBS, CIDP, or other conditions on online forums and meetings
  • Raising Awareness – Supporting GAIN by actively raising awareness about GBS, CIDP, and related conditions, as well as the charity itself
  • Research Support – Supporting GAIN’s research work through data collection and related events

Our volunteering opportunities are flexible in terms of time commitments and are based around what you can provide and what the charity needs. In return for your time we provide:

  • Induction and training
  • Ongoing support and supervision
  • An annual appraisal
  • Regular volunteers meetings and updates
  • Resources and materials
  • Access to the GAIN Office team when you need them
